TWO councillors have taken a stand against residents who allow their pets to foul in public.

Couns Dave Leech and Neil Wright, who represent the St Helen’s ward, arranged for an anti-dog fouling stencil to be used on worst-hit streets.

They said: “We are grateful to all the many responsible dog owners in St Helen’s ward who clean up after their dogs but there is still a small minority who fail to do the right thing.

“Hopefully these stencils will send a clear message to keep our neighbourhood safe and clean.”
