A BARNSLEY Hospital healthcare assistant can’t wait to take to the skies next month to do a wing walk for charity.

Julia Juhasz, 61, is hoping to raise £1,000 for Barnsley Hospital Charity as it’s a cause close to her heart.

“I recently started working permanently at the hospital after doing bank shifts for a while and when I heard about the wing walk I just decided to sign up for it.

“I have done quite a few fundraising things for the hospice in the past including a parachute jump and the midnight walk.

“But I decided to do this as a little payback for the care me and my family have received from the hospital in the past.”

Julia, from Smithies, is doing the wing walk on October 25 and will be strapped to the top wing of a 1940s’ Boeing Stearman biplane.

While up in the air, the plane will do low-level flypasts and dives with Julia strapped to the wing.
