MORE than 2,500 crimes were reported to police in Barnsley in June, the latest data shows.
The Barnsley West Neighbourhood Policing Team were the busiest across the borough as a total of 568 crimes were reported.
Their beat includes areas such as Penistone, Silkstone and Dodworth.
Violence and sexual offences were the most common crime recorded.
More than 400 crimes were also reported by Barnsley Central, Barnsley North and Barnsley North East teams.
Barnsley South and Barnsley South East’s officers recorded almost 700 incidents between them.
