WORKING parents with a child who will be nine months old by the end of the month are being urged to apply for extra support.

As part of the second phase of the 15 free hours of childcare being offered to working parents across the country, locals are being encouraged to apply before the deadline on August 31.

The support will be available in September and more information can be found on the Childcare Choices website.

Coun Trevor Cave, cabinet spokesperson for children’s services, said: “We want to make sure everyone in our communities has access to the support they’re rightfully entitled to.

“The additional 15 hours of free childcare will help to take the pressure of families looking to return to work, whilst balancing the cost of childcare alongside their income.

“Lots of working parents will be eligible for this offer, and I would urge them to visit the Childcare Choices website and fill out the questionnaire to find out what’s available.”
