DISRUPTION on the roads for motorists and bus passengers have been announced in the coming days.
BARNSLEY Council will repair a damage column in Dodworth this weekend following a road traffic collision. On Sunday, temporary traffic lights will be in place on Manchester Road from 9am until 12pm whilst the work takes place.
Motorists have been warned that delays are possible.
TEMPORARY traffic lights will be placed at Stairfoot next week. Motorists have been warned to expect delays on Hunningley Lane from Money until Friday whilst the lights are in place. Northern Powergrid are responsible for the work.
BUSES will be unable to reach a number of stops in Penistone until the start of August. There is currently a temporary road closure of Chapel Field Lane, from Clarel Street to Bluebell Avenue, for pavement resurfacing. This means that the 21 and 21a bus services will be unable to reach Broomfield Walk, Chapel Field Lane, Chapel Field Walk, Boggard Lane and Park Avenue until August 4. The closest alternative stops are Green Road, The Green or Market Place or St Mary’s Street.
A ONE-WAY restriction on a Monk Bretton street this weekend will mean buses will be unable to reach some stops. The restriction will be in place on High Street on Sunday. While the restriction is in place buses on the 59 and 59a from Barnsley towards Royston and Wakefield will be unable to reach the Burton Road, High Street, Well Lane and St Helens Way stops. The nearest alternative stops are Burton Road, Thoresby Avenue or Fish Dam Lane and Carr Street.
Buses towards Barnsley are not affected ad can reach all their usual stops in Monk Bretton.
TEMPORARY traffic lights are likely to cause delays in Brampton this weekend. There have been lights in place on Pontefract Road and Barnsley Road since last month, and they will run until August 13. On Sunday, from 8am until 6pm, Yorkshire Water will conduct works on the same stretch of road. Motorists have been told to expect delays.
MOTORISTS have been warned to expect delays in Monk Bretton next week. Temporary traffic lights will be placed on Rotherham Road from Wednesday until Friday. A joint operation between EON and the council will be taking place to replace a damaged column.
STAGECOACH buses will be unable to reach some stops in Darfield next week. On Tuesday, Illsley Road will be closed. While the road closure is in place buses on the 27, 37a and 27b are not able to reach the Illsley Road, Highfield Road, Morrison Road, Clarehurst Road and Clarney Avenue bus stops. The nearest stops towards Barnsley are Nanny Marr Road and Roundwood Way. Towards Wombwell the nearest alternatives are Nanny Marr Road, School Street or Roundwood Way or Oberon Crescent.
