A PARISH council clerk has retired after working for the service for over a decade.

Maxine Bashforth was presented with two planters bearing the name of the village by member of Cawthorne Parish Council earlier this month.

Chair of the council, Margaret Broadhead, said: “She will be very much missed.

“She has been an excellent clerk for the last 11 years but decided to call it a day.

“The council wishes her all the best for her retirement and thanks her for all the hard work and expertise she has given to the council over the years.”
