A 21-YEAR-OLD man known for being a prolific shoplifter has been issued with a maximum length Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and sent to prison.
Jamie Wilks, of Wood View, Elsecar, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to 15 shoplifting offences as well as breaching a CBO.
Wilks was sentenced to 15 months in prison and an extended seven-year CBO, which issues a new condition prohibiting Wilks from using anything to cover his head or face when entering any retail premises. Wilks was previously issued with a CBO and on release from prison he reoffended, shoplifting at multiple premises in the Hoyland area in January 2024.
A Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) is one of the options available to officers when it comes to dealing with people engaging in repeated anti-social behaviour or low-level crime. Anyone who witnesses Wilks breaching the terms of his CBO should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
