A DEDICATED fundraiser for Barnsley Hospice will be running up and down Mount Snowdon as part of his latest challenge.
Gavin Coles, 44, from Athersley South, will take on a charity duathlon which will see him tackle a 15-mile trail run, a 116-mile cycle and a run up and down the highest peak in Wales, Mount Snowdon, to raise money for the hospice in September.
The fundraising hero, who has twice been nominated for a Proud of Barnsley award, cycled the near-900-mile route from Land’s End to John O’Groats in Scotland in July last year, raising money for the same cause.
Gavin said: “I’ve done a lot of fundraising for the hospice my wife’s grandma spent a lot of time there and the staff did an amazing job at looking after her.
“I’m really looking forward to my next challenge it’s all for a very worthy cause and one that has a lot of meaning to our family.
“I’ll have 21 hours to complete the three-part challenge, so it’s going to be tough but I’m confident I’ll get it done.”
