MORE than £200 has been raised for a Barnsley charity thanks to a funeral director’s annual collection.
Neil Asquith, from E and M Newsome in Shafton, helped raised almost £300 for BIADS through the firm’s annual collection.
BIADS is an organisation formed by locals to provide support to those who have any form of dementia, as well as their family and friends.
Neil told the Chronicle: “We hold an annual Christmas memorial service here.
“We had a collection for BIADS and we managed to raise £294.84.
“We’re always actively supporting local charities and we know they appreciate any type of funding they receive.
“It’s all for a good cause especially at this time of year.”
