A WESTERN is currently being filmed – believed to be the first of its genre ever shot in Barnsley – by an award-winning film-making father and daughter duo.
Filming for ‘A Dollar To Die For’ kicked off on Saturday by 53-year-old Dean Sills and his daughter, 23-year-old Rebecca, of Ringway, Bolton-upon-Dearne.
The duo have won awards previously for their short nature documentaries, and are now working with Sheffield actor Keiron Goodwin, 47, to bring their new cowboy film to life.
Dean, who is a fan of Clint Eastwood and Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns, has said a lot of planning has already gone into the film, and it even features replica guns imported from Spain.
“It’s my dream to act in a western,” he said.
“It might only be Bolton-upon-Dearne, and not the USA or Spain, but anything is possible if you put your heart into it.”
Whilst Dean is acting in a lead role alongside Keiron, Rebecca is fully filming and editing the production with plans to submit it to film festivals.
