THE next phase of Barnsley's regeneration plans are due to take place in the coming weeks.
Outdoor market stalls will be moving to Peel Square while the works, that are due to finish early next year, take place.
Past improvements have seen new paving installed around the Glass Works and on Cheapside.
Coun Tim Cheetham, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and culture, said: “I’d like to thank all our traders for bearing with us and working closely with our town centre team over the last few years.
"We knew there was going to be disruption as we redesigned our town centre, but nobody was expecting a global pandemic and we know that’s taken a huge toll on our businesses.
“Barnsley really is getting back in business, and as our high street reopens we’re entering a really exciting time as we work towards the completion of the Glass Works, and this final stage of public realm improvements.”
