UP TO 30 people can now visit recycling centres across the borough as new coronavirus restrictions come into effect today.
Due to the pandemic, the number of visitors allowed on site had to be reduced in order to minimise the spread of the virus.
But now that restrictions have begun to ease, up to 30 visitors will be allowed on site, and traffic management outside of the sites will be removed.
Coun Chris Lamb, cabinet spokesperson for environment and transport, said: “As we start to open up more of our society, I’m pleased that we’re able to make these changes at our Household Waste Recycling Centres. This will make it easier for people to visit and dispose of their waste properly.
“We still expect the sites to be busy so do ask people to be patient if there are still queues, and to treat others with respect at all times.”
The following sites are closed as repair works are underway:
- Smithies – until May 28
- Worsbrough – June 7 to June 14
- Goldthorpe – June 15 to June 17
