MORE than 250 Barnsley businesses have been checked in the past month to make sure they are following Covid-19 guidelines.
The businesses so far have all implemented secure measures and so no premises have been referred to the council’s regulatory services team for a follow-up.
Since April, checks have been made to ensure that the businesses are keeping on top of risks from coronavirus to protect workers, visitors and customers.
Julia Burrows, Barnsley's director of public health, said: “I’m very pleased and reassured to find this level of compliance from Barnsley businesses.
“It reflects the hard work carried out by businesses and our own officers to ensure that requirements are met and continue to be implemented.
“I ask that everyone visiting these premises and helping support our local economy continues to follow all the guidance especially around hands, face space, and fresh air, along with getting their vaccination when invited to ensure that we come out of lockdown safely and stronger than ever, as a community.”
