BARNSLEY was once again put on the map as Cannon Hall Farm made their big screen debut as the as the first episode of Springtime on the Farm was broadcast on Channel 5.

The show featured lambs being born, the history of the farm and viewers met the Nicholsons, who have operated Cannon Hall Farm, in Cawthorne, for 60 years.

Farmer David, farmer Roger and farmer Robert also brough the show to life through demonstrations and assisting in the sheep who were giving birth to their lambs.

The Cannon Hall Facebook page held a 'Gogglebox' style view along, and over 300 comments were left praising the farm for their work.

Joy Muhammad said: "Fantastic family viewing. You have built up a wonderful business and are a lovely family. Farmer Roger and Cynthia must be so proud of everything you, as a family, have achieved. Congratulations to you all."

The show was presented by Countryfile presenter and farmer Adam Henson and Spring Watch Unsprung’s Lindsey Chapman and the series continues tonight at 8pm.
