BARNSLEY Hospice officially launched its new family room on its Inpatient Unit last week.
Following on from working with Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice to improve the transition from young people’s to adult services and palliative care, the new hub will support locals in similar situations.
A hospice spokesperson said: “The room is a comfortable and quiet space for families of all ages to enjoy during their time at the hospice, separate from patients' rooms.
“It includes a sofa bed for those staying overnight, a TV to enjoy a film together and a games console.
“This project was made possible thanks to a grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation Major Grant programme, administered through Hospice UK.”
