A SERIES of free workshops hosted by two of Barnsley’s most famous sons will end tomorrow.

Ian McMillan and Patrick Murphy’s latest project, A Walk Around Town, asked the community to join them and share stories, both real and imaginary, for a series of printed art maps.

The project connected the six Principal Towns of Cudworth, Goldthorpe, Hoyland, Penistone, Royston and Wombwell through workshops and writing.

It began in Penistone last month and the final two sessions will take place tomorrow (Friday).

The first at Cudworth Library from 10am to 12.30pm and the final session at Royston Library from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

The scheme has been commissioned through the Cultural Development Fund programme ‘Storying Barnsley’, which aims to support local artists and celebrate the stories and heritage of the town.
