PLANNING permission is being sought to build 19 new houses in Hoyland.

If approved, work will take place on Upper Hoyland Road.

A total of 23 neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on Christmas Day.

AN appeal has been lodged after the council rejected plans for two properties to be built in Wombwell. An application for work to take place adjacent to Hough Lane was originally submitted in May 2023. These plans were subsequently turned down by the council’s planning board in October. However it has been confirmed that an appeal has been lodged following the decision.

AN appeal has been lodged after plans to build a new property in Worsbrough Common were rejected. Plans were originally submitted in February for work to take place on Tower Street. They were eventually rejected by the council but an appeal has subsequently been lodged.

PLANS to demolish a weighbridge facility in Tankersley have been approved by the council. An application for work to take place on Westwood New Road was initially submitted in October.

Barnsley Council’s planning board approved the plans last week.

PLANS to build a detached bungalow in Worsbrough Common have been approved by the council. An application for work to take place to the rear of Surrey Close was originally submitted in July. These plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board earlier this week.

PLANNING permission is being sought to erect a commercial storage unit in Tankersley. If approved, the unit will be built at Park Works on Wentworth Way. Four neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on December 23.

PLANS to make alterations to Wentworth Castle to provide new classrooms at Northern College have been approved by the council. An application was submitted in July for work to take place at the site in Stainborough. These plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.

PLANS to add four security cameras and floodlights to an Oxspring farm have been approved by the council. An application for work to take place on Dean Head Farm was originally submitted in October. These plans were given the green light by the council’s planning board earlier this week.
