BARNSLEY Round Table are still supporting local groups and organisations with donations from money raised through last year’s Locke Park bonfire.
They recently met Barnsley Youth Choir to learn more about the work they do in putting . Barnsley on the map and providing opportunities for young people in Barnsley.
A Round Table spokesperson said: “The choir is third in the World Rankings in its category and has won eight prizes in big international competitions around the world.
“Our donation will be going towards the renovation of the NAVE (Northern Academy of Vocal Excellence).”
The Round Table has also recently made a donation in support of Matthew’s A Friend In Me charity.
“We are delighted to be supporting Matthew’s A Friend In Me. A brilliant charity that does amazing work in supporting families who find themselves in the horrendous position of having a child suffering from a brain tumour or some sort of childhood cancer.
“Our donation will help with things like attending hospital visits, gifts for the children or go towards trips.
“It's always a privilege to meet people who are the heart of the community and to support them in everything they do.
“Once again, thank you to everyone who supports our Locke Park Bonfire event. More donations are to follow as we meet even more amazing charities and good causes!”
Tickets are now on sale for this year’s bonfire at Locke Park on November 2.
