BARNSLEY is gearing up for a Royal visit later this month.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, will arrive in the town on October 17.
He will watch a private performance by Barnsley Youth Choir at St Mary’s Church and visit the town hall.
He is also due to see the town centre and the Glass Works development.
Also during the day, he will visit The Exodus Project a local charity in South Hiendley that supports children in need which received the King’s Award for Voluntary Service back in November.
