HUNDREDS of people flocked to Wombwell Park to sample its ‘Summer Fun’ event – and local MP Stephanie Peacock has praised volunteers’ efforts for making the day a success.
The event was organised by Friends of Wombwell Park and focused on having lots of activities for children to participate in to ease the burden on parents and carers in the school holidays.
The MP has visited Wombwell Park in the past and has supported the group’s efforts.
She said: “I was pleased to visit Wombwell Park’s Summer Fun event recently alongside local councillors.
“There were some great activities for children to get involved in throughout the day.
“Thank you to Friends of Wombwell Park for organising – this was a lovely event for local people to attend.”
