A LOCAL housebuilder has stepped in to help out a local football club who had been stung by a break-in.
A burglary at Houghton Main Junior FC earlier this summer hit the club hard.
One of Gleeson Homes’ site managers, Stuart Harper, wanted to help.
Stuart, who has been heavily involved in local football for many years, said: “All their gear was stolen and that was awful for the kids as all the juniors use it.
“We have storage containers which were doing nothing.
“So we have managed to spruce one up and a fabricator has made it secure.
“It’s been painted Gleeson green and there are signs up to say it’s been donated to them.
“It’s now in situ at the club and all their kit and gear is secure now.”
