DARFIELD marked Yorkshire Day on Saturday – by staging a huge litter-pick before serving Yorkshire puddings filled with jam.

The popular event at the Maurice Dobson Museum – once a corner shop run by Maurice and his partner Fred Halliday – saw the village’s tradition return.

Youngsters helped conduct a litter-pick to spruce up the area before homemade puddings were served.

Bard of Barnsley Ian McMillan, who attended the event, said: “As ever it was a very good event and we’re always thrilled to host our Yorkshire Day celebrations.”
