PLANNING ROUND-UP: Plans to convert a town centre tattoo parlour into two new flats have been approved by the council.

An application was originally submitted in May, for work to take place on Eldon Street North. These plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board recently.

PLANNING permission is being sought to use land in Staincross for car sales. If approved, a stretch of Wakefield Road will be the subject of the change of use. A total of four neighbouring properties have been made aware of the application with no appeals to date. The public are being encouraged to have their say on the plans until July 23. A target decision date of August 12 has been set.

PLANS to build a new house in Ingbirchworth have been rejected by the council’s planning board. An application was originally submitted in March 2023 for the property to be built on New Row Lane. These plans were turned down by Barnsley Council’s planning board. A report states: “In the opinion of the local planning authority the proposed new dwelling constitutes inappropriate development contrary to policy and would be harmful to the openness of the green belt.”

A GROUND floor shop will be converted into a residential property if plans go through. The application concerns the former Nola’s Lifestyle Express shop on Sandymount Road, Wath. The applicant is Nola Woodhead of the same address. Public consultation runs until July 22 and people can comment by visiting the Rotherham Council website.

PLANNING permission is being sought to erect a detached bungalow in Worsbrough Common. If approved, the bungalow will be added to Surrey Close. A total of 13 neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. A target decision date of August 26 has been set.

PLANS to demolish a building in Hoyland Common and replace it with an office have been approved by the council. An application for the work to take place on Hoyland Road was originally submitted in March. The plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.

PLANS to turn a six-bed HMO in Barnsley into a property that houses seven people have been submitted to the council. If approved, the property on Park Road will be the subject of the work. Six neighbouring properties have been made aware of the application with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on July 23.
