BARNSLEY Council is organising a training and recruitment event for those interested in a career in childcare,

The Bright Futures: Childcare training and recruitment event is on Wednesday June 26 from 1pm-7pm at Barnsley Metrodome.

Training providers, organisations and people working in childcare will be on hand to chat about Visitors will also be able to find out more about the benefits of working in childcare, such as flexible hours, competitive pay, personal and career development, and job satisfaction. Whether you're looking for an apprenticeship, a qualification, a job or a career change, you can pop along to ask questions and get advice from experts and professionals, including:

  • Adult Skills and Community Learning

  • Barnsley Family Hubs

  • Department for Work and Pensions

  • Day nurseries

  • Huddersfield University

  • Employment support advisors

  • Barnsley College

  • Eden Training

  • School careers advisors

  • Families Information Service

  • Childminding teams

The Family Hubs team will also be on hand, hosting family-friendly, free activities like crafting, board games and playdough to keep young visitors entertained while you learn more about this exciting career path.
