PLANNING permission is being sought to convert a Royston house into a new children’s home.

If approved, the home – which will be for two children up to 18 years old – will be created on Wood Walk.

A report states that ‘demand has been identified’ for a home in the area.

It added: “The children’s home would be occupied by up to two children aged between five and 18. The resident children would not be detained offenders or have any medical or clinical condition requiring secure facilities or hands on attention.

Their carers are simply required because they are too young to live independently.”

A target decision date has been set for July 15.
