POLICE are appealing for information after a van driver left the scene of an collision in which a young boy was injured.
The road traffic collision involving a grey van and a young boy occurred n Church Street in Brierley on Tuesday teatime.
At 5.55pm police were alerted by the ambulance service to a road traffic collision on Church Street.
A 10-year-old boy suffered injuries including a fractured cheekbone in the collision. He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
The van driver drove away from the scene following the collision. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the van and trace the driver.
A police spokesperson said: “We are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or captured the incident on dashcam to contact us.
“If you witnessed the collision, or have dash-cam footage which could assist the investigation, please call 101 quoting incident number 792 of 14 May 2024 when you get in touch.
“If you have dashcam footage, you can email this to enquiries@southyorks.pnn.police.uk and put the incident number as your email subject.”
