THERE are likely to be some delays on the road in the coming days as several roadworks get underway.
MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays in Darfield for two weeks. From May 12 until May 26, Edderthorpe Lane – from Rose Tree Avenue to Storrs Mill Lane – will be closed for resurfacing works. Barnsley Council will undertake the works with ‘delays likely’.
MOTORISTS have been warned delays are likely once Lee Lane is shut off for resurfacing. Barnsley Council will undertake carriageway resurfacing works from the A61 Wakefield Road to the roundabout at the recent development in Royston. Work will start next Sunday, (May 12) and run until the following Sunday.
A ROYSTON road will be closed this week for resurfacing works. West End Avenue will be closed from Tuesday (May 7) until Friday from High Street to Sycamore Drive. Motorists have been warned to expect delays.
RESIDENTS have been warned to expect delays in Higham this week whilst Barnsley Council undertake their latest ‘carriageway patching scheme’. Lawrence Close, from Longley Street to Avon Close, will be closed between Tuesday and Friday. It’s hoped the scheme will somewhat fix the roads in the area.
AN Elsecar road will be closed for 11 days starting from next week. From May 13 to May 24, Fitzwilliam Street – from Cobcar Street to Armroyd Lane – will be closed. Delays are likely whilst Barnsley Council undertake resurfacing work.
TEMPORARY traffic lights will be in place in Barugh Green next week. The lights have been situated on Barugh Green Road last week but all work was expected to end on Friday. However, the lights will return on Saturday (May 11). Openreach are responsible for the roadworks, which are expected to cause delays.
A MONK Bretton road will be closed for over two weeks. Newlyn Drive will be the subject of the road closure from Northern Powergrid from Wednesday (May 8) until May 28. Motorists have been warned that delays are likely.
