BARNSLEY community groups could receive a share of £20,000 to help prevent young people from engaging in violent crime.
The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit aims to reduce violent crime in the area by helping to fund organisations that provide support for young people under the Violence Reduction Unit's 16 priorities which include:

Encouraging safe, nurturing, and stable relationships between children and their parents

Working to end domestic violence

Promoting gender equality to prevent violence against women

Working to change cultural and social norms that support violence
Applications for the funding close on June 28 at midday. Successful recipients will be notified on July 12 and the funding must be spent before March 31 2022.
