Police called to motorway bridge following concerns

EMERGENCY services were called to a footbridge above the M1 yesterday, following a concern for safety of a woman.

Shortly before 3pm on March 4, officers were called to the bridge above the southbound carriageway of the M1 at Junction 37.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “On arrival, a woman was located and returned to safety by officers.

“The slip road was closed for a short time while officers ensured the woman was safe.”
