WENTWORTH Woodhouse is looking for volunteers to help design thousands of little wooden birds for a sculpture - with donation points across the borough.
A total of 10,000 birds will form The Flock, a huge art installation on the lawns of the stately home in the autumn.
The display is meant to represent freedom and will mark how communities and families pulled together in the Covid-19 crisis and can be decorated with messages and artwork which can also reflect affection for the house.
The new addition has been developed by Midlands-based artists Julie Edwards and Ron Thompson of Planet Art, who hope their creation will inspire local people to engage with the arts, culture and heritage on their doorstep.
The donation points across the borough include Elsecar Heritage Centre on August 6, August 20, September 3 and September 17 from 10am until 1pm.
You can also donate the birds at Wentworth Woodhouse on August 3, August 17, August 31 and September 14 from 10am until 1pm.
People unable to get to the pickup stations, can request a paper template via email to print out, decorate, and send back by emailing campaigns@wentworthwoodhouse.org.uk.
