A PROPOSAL for a potential new secondary school will be discussed this week at a council cabinet meeting.

It is predicated that there will be 900 more children needing a secondary school place in the 2020s due to an increase in the number of houses being built around the town centre.

Councillors will consider the options such as building a new free school to be ran by an academy trust, building a council-run secondary school or creating spaces within existing schools.
