PENISTONE Grammar School is set to be extended to accommodate an extra 250 pupils from September 2019.
Barnsley Council’s Cabinet members will be asked to approve and fund a proposal to extend
the school at its next meeting on Wednesday November 29.
It follows a public consultation on the proposal to expand Penistone Grammar on a phased basis from September 2018, in order to meet the demand for school places in the west of the borough which was found to largely support the plans.
The scheme will be funded by the council through a mix of funding and capital reserves through Building Schools for the Future (BSF).
