THE first ever Santa Dash will take place in Barnsley this weekend.
The event - organised by the Barnsley Museums Heritage Trust - takes place this Saturday (December 3).
People of all ages are invited to take part in the 200m dash, which begins at 11am outside the Town Hall.
Participants can enter individually or as part of a team.
A spokesperson said: “You can go at your own pace and in your own way. This could be walk, run, skate, scooter or wheelchair, the race is open to all.”
Santa dashers will be supplied with a free Santa suit as part of the ticket price, £6 per adult, £4 per child and £20 per family or team of four.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Barnsley Museums Heritage Trust, a charity whose aim is to ensure the future of the towns free museum service.
