SOUTH Yorkshire Police have launched a campaign to tackle bike thefts across the county.
It is aimed at advising riders on the steps they should take to help keep their bikes secure.
During February and March there were 148 recorded bike thefts.
In South Yorkshire, a bait bike has been used to catch offenders, which has led to five people being arrested and charged with theft.
The bikes are fitted with GPS tracking systems, which allow officers to quickly locate them and take action if they are stolen.
