A £1 million scheme to flatten half of a street in Goldthorpe and also develop a new school has been approved.
The plans for a new Goldthorpe Primary school, and a project to knock down one half of Beever Street to make way for a new housing development will now proceed.
Negotiations are already underway with the landlords of 14 of the 19 houses.
Council planning officer Joe Jenkinson said: "Overall it's a much welcome scheme and complies with the local plan policies and fits in with what we'd expect."
