AN anniversary celebration is being planned for Barnsley's birthing centre - where more than 2,500 babies have been born in the last year.
An open day is being held on Tuesday (May 5) from 10am to mark the occasion.
Sue Gibson, Head of Midwifery at Barnsley Hospital, said: “Since the renovation we have been able to offer more birthing options to women. Three new birthing pools were installed giving women the choice to have a water birth, so far 140 women have used the new birthing pools."
