BARNSLEY Family Hubs celebrated the official launch of its new Barnsley Market branch earlier this week.

As part of the celebration, children and families were able to enjoy some treats as well as join in the fun with a balloon artist.

The Family Hubs scheme plays a vital role in supporting families and children as part of the council’s wider Great Childhoods Ambition commitments.

The hub acts as an information point, where families can drop in and chat to staff about the services available to help them at the larger Family Hubs locations and across the borough.

Coun Trevor Cave, cabinet spokesperson for children’s services, said: “We are thrilled to officially launch the Family Hubs at Barnsley Market.

“This initiative is a testament to our commitment to improving the lives and futures of our children and young people.

“Through our Great Childhoods Ambition, we aim to provide every child in Barnsley with access to a wide range of opportunities and experiences.

“The Family Hubs plays a vital role in achieving this goal by delivering joined-up early help services and bringing together practitioners from various services to support families in our community.”
