A BARNSLEY woman took almost £30,000 from her dementia-suffering brother-in-law.
Susan Jayne Heppenstall, 55, was a carer for the victim, Jack Heppenstall, and spent the money on things like paying off doorstep loans, said Chantel Lowery-Green, prosecuting.
Heppenstall, of Grove Street, was responsible for managing her brother-in-law's finances.
Jack Danaher, defending at Barnsley Magistrates' Court, said it was hard to find out how much of the £29,775 Heppenstall took for herself.
He said some of the money had been spent on her brother-in-law.
District Judge John Foster added: "I think you should understand the seriousness of the offence you have committed. A prison sentence is a real possibility."
Heppenstall admitted fraud by abuse of position and will be sentenced on April 2.
