CONCERNS are growing for a man who has been missing since December 5.

Brian Sawyer, 58, was last seen at Chatsworth Square, Carlisle, but no one has seen or heard from him since.

He is described as 5ft 6in tall and of a medium build. He has white, receding hair and was last seen wearing a dark red polo shirt, brown corduroy trousers, a dark green/blue jacket and black shoes.

Mr Sawyer does know the South Yorkshire area well and may have travelled here.

Sergeant Chris Brennand said: "We're growing increasing concerned for Mr Sawyer's welfare. No one has received contact from him since the beginning of December.

"We appeal to anyone who has seen someone matching his description to let us know. If Mr Sawyer is hearing this appeal, please get in touch with police and let us know that you're safe and well."

Anyone with information can contact Cumbria Police on 101 and speak to the on-duty sergeant at Carlisle.
