SOUTH Yorkshire Police are encouraging students to download an app to help plan safer nights out.
A spokesman said: “Purse, keys, phone, lippy…and the WalkSafe app! If you're a student getting ready for a big night out tonight, don't forget to download WalkSafe on your phone.”
WalkSafe is a free personal safety app which aims to help people feel safer while they're out and about.
You can see which local venues meet certain safety and training standards, plot a safer route home, and even share your location with trusted contacts.
