BARNSLEY South MP Stephanie Peacock spoke in a debate in Parliament on the legacy of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The debate was secured by Labour MP for the Gower, Antonia Antoniazzi, and MPs attended to speak about how important this year’s Games have been to their constituencies.

Stephanie – in her capacity as Minister for Sport – was able to attend the Olympic and Paralympic Games, meeting with athletes, organisers and ambassadors to hear more about the respective competitions.

She said: “I could not be prouder of our Olympians and Paralympians in Paris.

“The breadth and depth of Team GB’s success was amazing, winning medals across a number of events in both the Olympics and the Paralympics.

“Those who competed have inspired a nation and shown the next generation what is possible.

“They should all be very proud of everything that they have achieved.”
