POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after a woman was left in a critical condition following an incident at a Barnsley roundabout.

Yesterday at 11.27am, it is reported that a 34-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being involved in a collision with a White Ford Transit van at a roundabout on Acorn Way, Grimethorpe.

The woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 GBH and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The circumstances that have led to the woman's injuries are currently unclear and police are now asking for the public's help with their ongoing investigation.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or the circumstances leading up to it as well as anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
