PLANNING ROUND-UP: Plans to replace a 15-metre-high monopole in Hoyland with a larger one have been approved by the council.

An application was submitted in April for the 20-metre-high monopole on Tankersley Lane. Further work, including six new antennas and four equipment cabinets will also be added to the site after the planning board gave the plans the green light last week.

PLANNING permission is being sought to change the use of a Bolton-upon-Dearne property into a house of multiple occupation. If approved, the work will take place on Dearne Road. Six neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. A target decision date has been set for July 5.

PLANNING permission is being sought to convert a former Post Office in Darton into a residential property. The site, on Church Street, is currently vacant but was used as a Post Office and convenience store. An application has been submitted to Barnsley Council’s planning board to turn the unit into a five-bedroom property. A target decision date has been set for July 4.

PLANS to erect a three-storey extension to the rear of a Wombwell chemist to create a new flat have been approved by Barnsley Council. An application for the work to take place on High Street was originally submitted in March. The plans were given the green light by the council’s planning board earlier this week.

PLANS have been submitted to add a rear extension to a Shafton property. If approved, work – which includes demolishing a garage and conservatory – will take place on South Croft. Eleven neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on June 18.

PLANNING permission is being sought to convert a former colliery building into a new house. If approved, work will take place at Norcroft Bridge on Silkstone Lane. Public consultation ends on June 19.

PLANNING permission is being sought to erect a new property in Old Town. If approved, the detached house will be built on Kensington Road. A total of eight neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date.

A target decision date has been set for July 8.
