A CHARITY who help those sleeping rough in the borough have raised more than £400 to help a homeless charity which lost its base.
The Rucksack Project - run by a group of volunteers who provide essential items to those on the streets - set up a fundraising page the week before Christmas in a bid to raise cash for Barnsley Churches Drop-In-Project, who were evicted from their Pitt Street base in November.
Organiser of The Rucksack Project, Adrian Flute, set up the fundraiser with the aim of raising money which will be spent on larger-sized rucksacks, cold weather sleeping bags and hand warmers.
He told the Chronicle: "I'm a big believer in if people come together and each do a little bit, we can do amazing things.”
