A TEENAGER was arrested after two people were reported stealing outdoor furniture from outside a pub in Elsecar.
Police were called at 11pm on Wednesday following reports of a theft.
Once in the area, officers received a further call of two people attempting to set fire to the stolen furniture in the car park of Elsecar Heritage Centre.
Two suspects were located and were detained.
One was found to be carrying a pocket knife and could provide no good reason for carrying it.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police Specials said: “A 15-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of theft, possession of an offensive weapon and assaulting an emergency worker and transported to custody.
“The other, a 13-year-old female, was taken home by officers and is being dealt with for the offence of theft.”
