BIKERS and scooter riders are being encouraged to sign up for a free first-aid class to help in the case of an accident.
The classes are launched as part of South Yorkshire Safer Road Partnership (SYSRP) BikerDown initiative to help provide bikers with basic first-aid skills in the event of a collision.
A spokesperson for SYSRP said: “While the sessions are themed around a collision involving a rider, the skills and knowledge are equally as useful if you come across any vehicle collision whether four, three or two-wheeled.
“For example, as a rider you are more likely to filter through stationary traffic and be confronted with a collision as the reason for the build up, or come across an incident on remote country roads.”
The sessions will be restarted on August 31 at the Lifewise Centre in Hellaby.
