BARNSLEY Council’s bin collection calendar for this year has been revealed today (December 7), with updated changes.
Residents can now view the new calendar on the council website, by typing in their street name and postcode to find the correct dates in the link here.
For some people, there will be a slight change compared to last year’s so it’s important to check.
Residents who are not online are encouraged to seek help from friends, family or neighbours.
Coun Chris Lamb, cabinet spokesperson for environment and transport, said: “Our bin calendar design makes it easy for residents to see at a glance when their bin days are.
“Just search for ‘Barnsley Council bin calendars’ to find it.
“The layout has been amended to be inclusive to all of our residents’ needs, making it simpler to read and it will work with screen readers.
“We moved to online calendars a few years ago as part of our Digital First programme.
“If residents would like a paper copy of their annual bin collection calendar, they can be downloaded to print at home. Alternatively, they can be saved in a handy place on their smartphone, tablet or computer.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their continued efforts to recycle right in Barnsley. Last year you helped us collect an extra 1,627 tonnes of brown bin recycling.
“That’s 34 per cent more than the year before and equivalent to an extra 129 double decker buses.”
