TWO Barnsley siblings are set to lace up their boots for a 15-mile trek to thank the hospital that treated them as tots.

Lindsay Dawson, 34, and brother Gary Dawson, 31, will be joined by Gary’s wife Joanna as they take on the Three Dams Walk.

They're raising vital funds for The Children’s Hospital Charity in Sheffield.

Lindsay, of Willow Close, Hoyland, had to stay overnight at the hospital after an operation on her frenulum as a youngster, while Gary was treated for a hernia at just three years old.

Lindsay said: "We both felt it was a positive environment and we're so lucky to have this facility so close to us.

"My mum has got nothing but positive things to say about the hospital, and we have friends with kids who use it, so we thought we would support it."

Work is now underway to transform the hospital - which treats over 10,000 youngsters from Barnsley every year - to create a brand new building so families can be together at difficult times.
