A NEW principal will arrive at a Barnsley school after the summer holidays.
The Hill Primary Academy, part of Astrea Academy Trust, announced that Michelle Cockayne will take over at the Thurnscoe school in September.
Mrs Cockayne joined the trust as a classroom teacher, moving into assistant and vice-principal roles.
She said: “I am absolutely thrilled to take on the role of principal at The Hill Academy.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the local community and am keen to develop strong links between the school, parents, carers and other partners.
“Schools are at the heart of a community and I feel passionate about forging these strong bonds.”
