BARNSLEY College is set to start its phased reopening from March 8 following the government’s announcement.
The college have began plans to return to onsite with staggered start times, testing arrangements and support when safe to return.
A spokesperson for Barnsley College said: “As throughout this pandemic, our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our students, their families, and our staff, and therefore a phased approach to reopening and mass testing is vital to keeping everyone safe, including the wider community in Barnsley itself.
“Arrangements for the return of Higher Education students on practical courses, who need to access specialist facilities and equipment, will be communicated accordingly.
“The government has announced that the return of other Higher Education students will be reviewed by the end of the Easter holidays based on the latest data.
“We will also be continuing to enforce our Covid-safety measures for everyone, including the wearing of face coverings, social distancing, regular hand washing and one-way systems.”
Barnsley College has been routinely testing students and staff that have been onsite since January.
